Borouge announced the launch of Anbiq™, its latest high performance Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) solution for flexible packaging applications at the recently concluded Chinaplas 2021 in Shenzhen. Anbiq™ is produced using proprietary Borstar® bimodal technology and an advanced smart catalyst system. With its unique combination of mechanical properties, sealing performance, easy processing and high clarity optics, Anbiq™ has demonstrated excellent, fit-for-purpose performance in a wide range of flexible packaging applications.
The first two Anbiq™ grades, FM1810 and FM1818, provide an excellent benefit-to-cost ratio for customers and value chain partners in the packaging sector. Anbiq™ complements Borouge’s existing Anteo Anbiq™ grades as well as Borstar® polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), enabling Borouge to offer a complete suite of end-to-end solutions for the flexible packaging market.
Wim Roels, Chief Executive Officer, Borouge Pte Ltd said, “Chinaplas is an excellent platform for us to engage with our customers and value chain partners to identify new areas where we can work together to bring new and innovative solutions to the market that help create value, protect the environment and drive plastics circularity.”
“Borouge has recently obtained International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS and this achievement paves the way for us to offer Bornewables™, a range of products made from renewable feedstock that will further expand our portfolio of circular solutions. We are also actively working to develop recyclates with the aim of meeting the requirements of end applications without compromising on their performance. We will also be featuring latest proprietary mono-material solutions which are designed to promote effective post-consumer recycling,” Mr. Roels shared.
With the growth in demand in China and other emerging economies for high quality and durable utility pipes that ensure safe operations and minimise losses during distribution, Borouge will be increasing the availability of sustainable material for water and gas pipes in the coming months.
The company is committed to support the gas and water pipe market in China by expanding its product portfolio to ensure it is able to offer high-quality pre-compounded PE100 and PE80 products. The expanded product offering will support implementation of the Chinese water pipe standard that promotes the use of pre-compounded material for the production of water pipes in order to safeguard water supply and address the growing concerns of global water scarcity.
In addition, Borouge also introduced its latest PE100 solution BorSafe™ HE3490-ELS-H for large diameter and thick-walled pipe applications at Chinaplas. This new grade has superior low sag properties that enables a more uniformly distributed wall thickness compared to conventional PE100 materials, delivering tangible material savings for pipe producers.
Eddie Wang, Borouge’s Senior Vice President, Asia North, said, “Borouge is confident about China’s tremendous economic growth potential, and we have the ambition to further expand our business footprint, particularly in the central and west regions. We recently opened a new warehouse in Wuhan to increase our logistics capacity in Hubei and its neighbouring provinces to better serve our valued customers.”
Borouge presented its latest advanced circular economy solutions alongside its portfolio of products at the exhibition, which included industry-leading cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) solutions that support clean energy and low-loss transmission and distribution in the energy sector, its advanced packaging solutions for China’s dynamic e-commerce market, agriculture solutions that support farming efficiency and increase crop yields, quality and food security, as well as healthcare solutions which are certified to international regulations. Borouge also showcased its lightweight solutions for the important and fast-growing electric vehicles segment.
