The 11th edition of Plastindia, originally scheduled on 4-9 February 2021, has been postponed to 17-21 February 2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This was announced in a letter by Plastindia Foundation President Jigish Doshi and its National Executive Council Chairman Ajay Shah.
The organisers cite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which creates uncertainty and raises health and safety concerns as reasons for the postponement. As of September 15, there are 29.2 million COVID-19 cases with death toll at 927,000. India recorded 4.93 milion cases and 80,776 deaths according to official statistics.
Held every 3 years, Plastindia is the biggest plastics exhibition in India. Several of its editions were held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi, then transferred to Gandhinagar, Gujarat, before moving back to the newly reconstructed centre in Pragati Maidan for the 11th edition originally scheduled in February 2021.
Its previous edition in 2018 gathered around 1,800 exhibitors with 2 million visitors in attendance.
