CHINAPLAS 2017 brings green solutions to building & construction

Sustainability is now the first item on every industry's agenda for development. In the face of such environmental issues as global warming, energy shortage, drastic decrease in forest resources, pollution and so on, how do the building and construction industries contribute to energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection? How can they succeed in business transformation and upgrading?

Plastics are good building materials. As such, they not only can serve as a substitute for steel and wood, but also possess superior qualities in aspects including energy saving, ecological protection, living environment improvement, architecture functionality and quality enhancement, materials and weight reduction, as well as easy handling. For these reasons, plastics are increasingly being applied as building materials. CHINAPLAS 2017, a prominent event in plastics and rubber industries, will offer visitors a closer look at the innovative plastics technologies developed for the building and construction industries and enable them to find the answers to the questions in the previous paragraph.

New materials and new technologies

More than 900 exhibitors will showcase advance raw materials applied in building and construction industries in CHINAPLAS 2017, including high performance composites, recyclable wood plastic composites, and state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment of high efficiency and low energy consumption. To inspire the industries towards high efficiency, energy saving and sustainable development, the globally well-known exhibitors, including BASF, Borouge, Clariant, Dow, FANGLI, Jwell, Lanxess, Ascend, Yizumi, YUDO, Yuntianhua, Zhejiang Shuanglin, Battenfeld-cincinnati, Kraussmaffei Berstorff, Dekuma and TEIJIN, will demonstrate their flagship products at the fairground.

As Asia's No.1 event in plastics and rubber industries, the exhibition is expected to attract more than 140,000 professional visitors, from over 150 countries/regions, and more than 150 buyer groups. The Committee of Plastic Doors and Windows of China Construction Metal Structure Association, Guangzhou Building Materials Industry Association, Guangdong Provincial Wall Materials Industry Association, Shanghai Building Materials Industry Association and other industry associations have confirmed their visit schedules; representatives from enterprises such as Zhejiang ZhongCai, Potentech, Lesso, Kingbull, Oriental Yuhong, Foshan Rifeng, Goody Technology, Dayang, Chuanlu Plastic, Tianjin Senpu Pipe have also pre-registered for CHINAPLAS 2017.

Some of the advances exhibits that will be displayed are highlighted below

Nanjing KY Chemiacl Machinery Co., Ltd. will launch its novel technology of differential speed co-rotating non-twin screw extruder in CHINAPLAS 2017. It uses two non-identical screws to finish the whole process of polymer processing at different speeds, which overturns the commonly believed idea that identical shape and equal speeds are necessary for co-rotating screw extruders. The two screws rotate at different speeds; however, they achieve self-cleaning functions successfully.

New technology and equipment for steel reinforced corrugated pipe developed by Sichuan Goldstone Orient New Material Equipment INC. will make its debut in CHINAPLAS 2017. Compared to the previous generation production equipment, it features more advanced production processes, excellent performance and better forming quality of pipes. In addition, without sacrificing quality, cost can be reduced by 12-15%, production speed increased by 20%, and the time of replacing mould is reduced by 50%. Pipes with stiffness SN8-SN16 and diameter 300mm-3000mm, mainly used in underground drainage, city sewage pipes, many areas of agricultural irrigation water pipelines, water collecting systems and water seepage piping systems, etc., can be made using this equipment.

Krah pipe extrusion line, developed by Ningbo Fangli Technology Co., Ltd., is mainly used for the production of large diameter Krah pipes, with working range OD300-OD4000 and different ring stiffness. The line can be equipped with sets of extruders, double layer flat die head and double layer coating die head as an option. This highly efficient and energy saving extruder, equipped with imported servo-motor and high precision gearbox, enables high efficiency, stable and reliable production. It is also installed with advanced software and can achieve high automation and high product uniformity. Multifunctionality can also be realized by different combination of line components to produce square profiled pipe and manhole.

Nextool Technology Co., Ltd. will showcase its automatic packing machine for PVC window & door profile products packing. Compared with manual packing, automatic packing machines are more reliable as they reduce losses resulting from human misoperation, enhance automation level, reduce dependency on labour and management workload and greatly decrease the cost of production. In addition, they improve the quality and appearances of the packing and competitiveness of products by using heat shrink device.

Euro style high speed PE extrusion line developed and produced by Zhangjiagang City Yili Machinery Co., Ltd. features high speed, big capacity and low power consumption. It is of high speed calibration and good cooling effect with spiral mould structure design and a special pipe inner cooling system; it can also offer high speed material feeding with special spiral groove feeding design and outside water jacket cooling.

Apart from the above exhibits, visitors will also be able to see in person advanced materials and cutting-edge automation equipment, such as high density polyethylene for pipes, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), recycled plastics, a new type of thermal stabilizer that contains no lead, an automatic spraying production line, a large diameter double-wall corrugated pipe forming machine, automatic detection equipment, and a continuous production line for aluminum composite panels.
