ADOPTING new technology for logistical operations is expected to increase as Industry 4.0 comes into play in many parts of Asia today. While investment in automation is only picking up in Southeast Asia, it is clearly the path most manufacturers want to take to boost efficiency. Automation is equated with increased productivity and improved competitiveness as it integrates the entire supply chain, from production to delivery.
Poised for this regional development is Consoveyo, a specialist in warehouse automation, with various technologies for warehouse storage and management. One of these is the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) which aims to address manufacturers' concerns not only in maximising storage space but in reducing human labor, as well as ensuring workplace safety and warehouse security. Besides the systems, the company's engineers provide maintenance services for complete systems - even those not from Consoveyo. The company's team in Singapore is adept at retrofitting older ASRS systems, including models sold by other third-party suppliers. Consoveyo also provides after-sales, project management, sales and marketing, and programming.
At ProPak Asia which took place from 13-16 June 2018, Consoveyo presented the technology using a model scale of its ASRS. Louis Kok, Head of Marketing & Sales and Aaron Fan, Systems Consultant were at the trade show to meet with visitors. In the following video, Mr Kok explains the benefits of the ASRS:
