International Plastic Fair (IPF) opened its door on October 24 at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo. The exhibition will last for 5 days until October 28.
This year the exhibition accommodated 778 exhibitors, with a total number of 2,438 booths that took up 54,000sqm floor space. The show’s organizer, International Plastic Fair Association, is delighted to see the support from exhibitors and visitors domestically and internationally. Mr. Yoshinobu Nakamura, the president of International Plastic Fair Association expressed his anticipation and thoughts toward the significance of the show. He emphasized on the ever-stronger global competition, and the changing trends in the plastics and rubber fields. Mr. Nakamura further called attention on developments in robotics, IoT, and new materials – especially carbon fiber composite.
Often a place where pioneers in extrusion technology, in novel processing as well as material technology emerge, Japan’s companies are definitely addressing the new trends in new processing methods and intelligent manufacturing. Leading Japanese companies opened IPF with their latest innovations – Toshiba Machine introduced its intelligent system, injection molding machine with IoT, and stronger controller that could connect the equipment and robots in the factory while bridging with the customers’ system for real time monitoring. On the other hand, JSW (The Japan Steel Works) has released electric injection molding machine that could save energy consumption up to 80% compared to hydraulic machines. The company has also developed electric injection molding machine for processing carbon composite materials especially applied in automobiles, electrical home appliance and office automation appliance. JSW’s subsidiary, MEIKI, has succeeded in introducing an eclectic injection molding machine that is designed for blend-molding and CFRP molding. The blending-feeding device can be completely customized by the customer with any materials, giving it the position as one of the most influential attentions of the show.
As domestic exhibitors amaze visitors, overseas exhibitors are increasing their presence and technological capacity quickly. There are over 50 exhibitors from China, and over 70 companies from Taiwan at the show as they view IPF 2017 as a valuable platform for commercial activity and technology exchange.
