FOR THE fourth time in succession, Krones has been able to maintain its B- Prime status for sustainability, based on the assessment of international rating agency oekom research.
Oekom assessed 172 industrial companies worldwide, the majority of which were rated D+. Only fewer than 5% of these companies (including Krones) met the B- rating, and thus rank among the leading plant and machinery manufacturers in terms of sustainability.
The rating covers the company’s operations that have to do with social responsibility and sustainable eco-management. These are weighted using more than 100 criteria specifically selected as relevant to the sector. Krones performed well in two categories: in the “staff” aspect, oekom research praised the opportunities for staff in terms of an equitable work-life balance. As to “eco-efficiency”, the rating agency emphasised the responsible management of media and energy at Krones.
“The fact that this year we’ve again defended our B- Prime status is a notable success. The rating provides us with an independent appraisal that this year, too, confirms that we’re on the right track when it comes to sustainability,” to quote a gratified Nico Irrgang, CSR Project Coordinator at Krones.
