Titanium is a familiar material in the industries of sustainability and reusable products. For example, Starbucks in Hong Kong and Macau are tapping into titanium to severely cut back on the use of plastics in their stores. The General Manager of Starbuck Macau & Hong Kong, Andrew Hui, said that they will be making titanium straw available for purchase. He also says that Starbucks is committed to reducing all plastic use and plastic waste by 30% come the year 2020.

Other established industries that use titanium are military, aeronautics, and automobiles. It just goes to show that titanium will continue to be a pivotal ingredient to various industries around the world. A good assumption to make that there will be more industrial byproducts that will be developed because industries decided to utilize titanium. Ultimately, consumers will be the ones to benefit from this and that’s a good thing.
