ProPak Asia, Asia’s Number 1 Processing & Packaging industry event has contributed to the growth of the food and beverage industry in Thailand for the past 25 years. It is instrumental to the country’s determination in accomplishing its targets under the Thailand 4.0 initiative designed to deliver innovation to big and small manufacturers. Agri-business sectors are strongly emphasized by government as key industries where Thailand can a front-runner.
In an interview with Wolf, which has been an exhibitor since the trade show started 25 years ago, owner and CEO Gunter Wolf is a witness to the rapid development in Thailand as well as neighboring countries. The company provides packaging machines, including form-fill-seal machines. Mr Wolf is positive about growth in the region.
According to David Newell, General Manager and Business Development Director at Matcon - IDEX Asia Pte Ltd, there is a change in the mindset of Asian manufacturers in the way their production has to be run. To meet the expectations of their customers, manufacturers are switching from low cost to newer and more efficient and flexible solutions, says Mr Newell. Customers are also looking to improve hygiene in their production systems, and are becoming more brand-conscious when shopping for new machinery. Matcon was at ProPak to exhibit its Discharge Station, and targets SMEs not only in Thailand but in the rest of South East Asia.
