TIMTOS is so far of the largest scale that ranks among the global fifth largest
All eyes of the machine tool industry are on TIMTOS, one of the top machine tool shows in the world that joins makers with their innovative products and buyers to create massive business opportunities. Hosted by TAITRA and TAMI, TIMTOS 2017 will be open from March 7th to 12th at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall1, TWTC Exhibition Hall 1& 3, and Yuanshan EXPO Dome @ Taipei EXPO PARK. This show will host a record of 1,100 exhibitors with 5,430 booths, covering up to 100,000 sqm exhibition area. More than 7,500 foreign buyers and 47,500 local visitors are expected to come to TIMTOS this year. Held biennially, the 26th TIMTOS is so far of the largest scale that ranks among the global fifth largest, the Asia's second largest and Taiwan's largest metal processing and machine tool show.

Well-known domestic manufacturers such as Fair Friend Group, She Hong, YCM, Tongtai, Goodway, Litz Hitech, Victor Taichung, You Ji, CHMER, Hiwin and Shieh Yih will exhibit in the show. International exhibitors include DMG MORI, MAZAK, FANUC, SIEMENS, SODICK, HEIDENHAIN and more from countries including Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the United States, Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, Singapore and China and 10 more. TIMTOS is the important platform where global machine tool industry showcases its latest machinery and technology.

The show not only encompass every facet of the machine tool supply chain that meets the need for metal processing of all industries, but set the theme “Industry 4.0+ and Smart Manufacturing” in response to the global Industry 4.0 trend. The machine tool industry integrates ICT, big data analysis, IoT, cloud computing technology and industrial robot into machine tools to make smart machines and production lines that provide total solution to enhance efficiency, reduce cost and boost competitive edge. For example, Tongtai is showcasing its latest multi-tasking turning center which is based on the concept of horizontal CNC lathe and adopts rotating spindle to process multi-degree machining; while its five-axis controller is able to process complex curve-surface contouring. It is suitable for aerospace, automotive and biomedical industries that need high-precision processing. Fair Friend Group, on the other hand, collaborated with KUKA, Microsoft and Delta Electronics, to develop its “Industry 4.0 Production,” a production system that can be used in many different industries, such as aerospace, transportation, molds and mobile tablets.

To increase exhibition effectiveness, through its 60 overseas offices around the world, TAITRA invited around 38 VIP buyers from 17 countries of Europe, Asia, Americas and mid-East region to have more than 230 one-on-one procurement meetings with local exhibitors. In addition, international machine tool associations and government chamber of commerce including AIEMA and FISME from India, BOI from Thailand and JCGI from China, and more from Turkey, Poland, Russia, Malaysia and China have formed groups to join the exhibition as visitors or buyers. Such cross-nation technical exchanges shall boost business opportunities.

To be on track of international market needs and the latest trends in the industry, TIMTOS Summit that takes place on March 8th and 9th at Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) invites senior executives from CISCO, NVIDIA, SIEMENS, KUKA and AIDC to share the market news and sharp vision regarding smart machine, smart factory and automotive and aerospace industries. In addition, more than 30 innovative technical seminars and new product launches and the most anticipated “The 13th Taiwan Machine Tool Industry Awards for Excellence in Research and Innovation” will be held during the show. All these events demonstrate the innovation ability of Taiwan’s machine tool industry.
