FoodPacific Manufacturing Journal and other members of the press had the opportunity to meet with PT Sucofindo (Persero) executives during a factory visit arranged by UBM Asia in February.
Sucofindo is a 95-5 partnership between the local government and SGS (Societe Generale de Surveilance Holding SA). It was established in 1956 as Indonesia’s first inspection company and has since added 60 service points with ISO/IEC 17025 (KAN-Indonesia) across the country. The company is also looking to expand within Southeast Asia.

In the press briefing, Anwar Tahir, vice president of SBU Laboratory introduced their services which now include audit, assessment, consultancy, and training for various industries. For the food and beverage industry, Sucofindo will offer HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) audits and certification as well as SNI (Standar Nasional Indonesia) testing, audit and certification, including those for halal.
A tour around the compound showcased laboratories equipped with Digital Droplet Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) – DNA and RNA analysis and porcine detection kit, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Liquid Chromatography Triple Quadruple Spectrometry mass (LC-MS-MS), Gas Chromatography Spectrometry Mass (GC-MS) and ICP, among others.
