Vario Cross Honing for precise gearing surfaces

At the recent IMTEX 2019 in Bangalore, PRÄWEMA Antriebstechnik GmbH, a global market and technology provider of gearing honing, has presented its latest innovation in the top technology field for optimising gearing surfaces - the so-called “Vario Cross Honing” technology. 

By using a specially developed oscillation method during the honing process, “Vario Cross Honing” enables surface roughness to be reduced even further, resulting in another increase in the surface quality of geared components. This innovation, yet another benchmark in gearing machining from PRÄWEMA, allows gearing manufacturers to produce wear- and noise-reduced vehicle gearboxes with higher torque transmission. The exhibited SynchroFine machine is tooled up by DVS Tooling, the DVS company dedicated to precision tools and technology support for PRÄWEMA gear honing, which will also be presenting its comprehensive spectrum of honing tools for external and internal gearings, e.g. optimised VarioSpeedDresser dressing tools, honing rings and wheels of extraordinary cutting performance and splitting quality and laser-finished diamond dressing gear wheels.
