At ProPak Asia, Videojet and Tomco will showcase advanced coding and marking solutions designed for greater productivity and lower TCO for high-speed production lines

Innovation is the focus in 2017, as Videojet and its partner Tomco Automatic Machinery Co., Ltd introduces three new products at ProPak Asia 2017 (June 14-17, 2017) designed to deliver maximum uptime, unprecedented reliability and attractive total cost of ownership figures. These new systems take advanced technologies further than ever before, simplifying processes to allow operators to dedicate more focus to production-related activities. This year, Videojet presents these new innovations hand in hand with Tomco to bring the future of smart printing into the local and regional markets.

The revolutionary new Videojet 1860 continuous inkjet (CIJ) printer makes its first appearance in Asia, after its launch at Interpack 2017. The 1860 has been designed to deliver the smartest, simplest-to-operate, and most efficient CIJ printer in the industry to solve identified production line challenges.

The Videojet 1860 CIJ printer

The 1860 CIJ printer provides up to 8 hours' advance notice to allow corrective actions, and boasts simple operations

Using industry leading predictive capabilities including an industry-first ink build-up sensor, the 1860 provides up to 8 hours advance notice alerting operators and allowing for corrective actions of the most common potential fault conditions that can impact on line uptime.  It utilizes over 50 real time sensors to continuously monitor 150+ key indicators of printer performance; providing expert diagnostics, analytics, and guidance.

The 1860 was designed with a minimal touch philosophy, the new Videojet SIMPLICITYTM user interface with advanced Code Assurance capability, reduces operator training, minimizes operator interactions, eliminates potential user errors and ensures print quality.

Another feature is VideojetConnectTM, a remote service capability connecting the technician directly to the line for immediate advice and remote problem solving, allowing for real-time corrective action to deliver increased uptime.

The Videojet 7610 Fiber Laser

The Videojet 7610 Fiber Laser is ideal for high-speed beverage, pharmaceutical and extrusion manufacturers

Another new technology on display is the Videojet 7610 Fiber Laser, the latest product for Laser marking systems which continues to play a key role in high speed, high throughput operations. This 7610 has been engineered specifically for high-speed beverage, pharmaceutical and extrusion manufacturers. Suitable for environments where power and speed are needed to mark high-contrast codes on hard plastics and metals. Its 100-Watt fiber laser meets the demands of high-speed packaging operations, enabling manufacturers to mark crisp, clear codes at up to 600 meters per minute and having virtually no maintenance with a source life expectancy of 100,000 hours.

Videojet DataFlex® 6530 thermal transfer overprinter

Videojet DataFlex® 6530 thermal transfer overprinter (TTO) with integrated code quality assurance, Videojet iAssure™ technology

On preview for the first time in Asia, the Videojet DataFlex® 6530 thermal transfer overprinter (TTO) comes with integrated code quality assurance, Videojet iAssure™ technology. This feature automatically verifies all printed codes for common print defects, such as ribbon wrinkles or uneven print surfaces that cause alphanumeric print errors. It also comes in a modular design to provide flexibility for manufacturers to decide how the printer fits into their production line by allowing the power supplier to be placed with the controller, or separated and mounted inside the packaging machine cabinet.

“Videojet continues to revolutionize this space in terms of production efficiency and code quality, and in the development of specialist inks and fluids. This process is always ongoing for our experts and we are immensely proud to demonstrate these latest innovations at ProPak Asia 2017,” commented Josselin Prats, General Manager SEA/ANZ at Videojet Technologies. “We are also pleased to have the support of our local partners at ProPak Asia, through them we are able to show our commitment to the needs of our customers in the region.”
