Visteon, PT Astra strengthen link in Vietnam

Visteon Corp., a leading automotive electronics technology supplier, and PT Astra Otoparts Tbk, an Indonesian market leader in automotive component manufacturing, are expanding the production and supply of instrument clusters and multi-function displays to major vehicle and motorcycle manufacturers in Vietnam. 

As a fully owned subsidiary of the PT Astra Visteon Indonesia, a joint venture between Visteon and Astra Otoparts, the new Vietnam facility will initially manage pre-delivery, quality inspection and just-in-time delivery of instrument clusters and information displays for Honda's manufacturing facility in Hanoi.

"Strengthening our relationship with Honda – one of the world's largest motorcycle manufacturers – Astra Visteon Vietnam will play an important role in driving further growth by supplying innovative electronics solutions in the fast-growing two-wheeler market," said S.K. Banerjee, director of Visteon's Asia operations. "Today's consumers expect a connected mobility experience and, as partners, we are in a strong position to lead the evolution of electronics and software content in the motorcycle segment."

PT Astra Visteon Vietnam is located in Phuc Yen Town Vinh Phúc in Hanoi, and will start operations in January 2018. The facility is established as a fully owned subsidiary of PT Astra Visteon Indonesia which was established in 2011 as a 50-50 joint venture between Visteon and PT Astra Otoparts Tbk.
