SIKORA advanced inspection system eyes China market

At Chinaplas 2022, from April 25 to 28, 2022, in Shanghai, SIKORA will present innovative measuring, control, inspection, analysis and sorting systems. At the SIKORA booth, visitors can expect a comprehensive portfolio of devices for quality control, process optimisation and cost savings in the pipe, hose and tube as well as plastics industries.

For online inspection and sorting of plastic pellets SIKORA presents the PURITY SCANNER ADVANCED. For inspection of, e.g. XLPE pellets in high voltage cable production, the PURITY SCANNER ADVANCED includes optical cameras and X-ray technology. In this combination, the X-ray camera detects metallic contaminants inside the pellet down to a size of 50 µm. In addition, burns and black specks on the pellet surface are detected by the optical cameras and automatically sorted out. The integrated software provides the operator with a statistical evaluation with information on size, area and number of detected impurities in the production process. SIKORA also offers a three-camera solution, where three optical cameras are directly aligned to one point. This is used for example for the inspection and sorting of strand pellets. Thanks to the optical cameras, discolorations of transparent materials are reliably detected. The integration of intelligent blue LED homogeneous illumination also avoids shadow detection.

For a 100 % quality control during the extrusion of pipes, SIKORA exhibits the CENTERWAVE 6000, a system based on millimeter wave technology. The device precisely measures the diameter, ovality, wall thickness, the inner profile as well as the sagging of the pipe. The measuring principle does not require any coupling media or calibration and is not influenced by temperature or the plastic material.

The X-RAY 6000 PRO is a further highlight at the SIKORA booth. It measures the wall thickness, eccentricity, the inner and outer diameter and the ovality of hoses and tubes. Hereby, the thickness of up to three different material layers is measured. SIKORA’s presentation in Shanghai is completed by reliable diameter measuring systems of the LASER Series 2000 as well as LASER Series 6000, which in addition also offer a lump detection.
