ExxonMobil Chemical's Enable mPE resins were recently approved by the China Agricultural Film Association (CAFA) for agricultural greenhouse film applications. Enable 2010CH and Enable 2005CH resins made it to CAFA's list of recommended resins based on their outstanding mechanical, ageing and optical properties, and superior processability. CAFA is a private, non-profit organization mainly serving the interests of agricultural film converters in China, with focus on technical know-how and information exchange amongst its members. To make it to CAFA's list of recommended resins for agricultural film use, the Enable mPE resins were put through a series of rigorous in-house lab accelerated ageing tests, as well as field cladding ageing tests. In the cladding tests, greenhouse films made with pure Enable mPE resins were put to real-life, real-time weatherability and ageing tests in multiple field experiments over a period of 6 months in collaboration with several local independent film fabricators. The performance of the films were monitored and recorded separately by ExxonMobil and CAFA at intervals of 3 months, 4 months, 5 months and longer after installation, and the results compared and cross-checked versus a reference. ExxonMobil also received the Ringier Technology Innovation Awards 2008 for "technical and product excellence" for its Enable mPE resins, and for making a significant technological contribution to China's plastics industry. www.exxonmobil.comAir Max 90 Ultra Moire
