China''s biggest trade event for the plastics industry, Chinaplas 2009, is gaining tremendous interest from exhibitors and visitors who opted to register early in time for the show''s May 18-21 schedule. To be held at the China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou, the "23rd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries" promises more this year. At the press conference held in Chengdu, Sichuan on February 18, Mr Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd announced that for the first time, the show will feature the Plastic Building Materials Pavilion, which will be participated by many renowned suppliers including Beijing Yiqiang, Dongguan Jiejia, Guangdong Xiongsu, Meixin and Namsok. The new pavilion has received support from the China Plastics Processing Industry Association and related subcommittee given Chinaplas'' goal of being a high quality sourcing platform to cater for the future development of the industry in plastic building materials. The pavilion is also in line with the needs of the Sichuan Reconstruction Project with focus on the sourcing of building materials after the earthquake in Sichuan. In the pavilion, new housing mockups and the complimentary products from exhibitors will be displayed. The new pavilion will display various infrastructure and household plastics & rubber products, including plastic pipes/pipes fittings, plastic window/door profiles and accessories, plastic plates and foaming materials, waterproof, heat preservation, decoration materials and rubber building material. It will act as an all-round building materials sourcing platform for real estate developer, architects, engineers, contractors, builders, traders, town planners, interior designers, building management companies and Construction Bureau of various provinces and construction teams in China. In addition, a briefing on investment opportunities in Sichuan reconstruction and suppliers sourcing will be held to provide the attendees with the latest news on Sichuan Reconstruction Projects. As Asia''s No. 1 and the world''s No. 3 plastics and rubber trade fair, Chinaplas attracts many overseas buyers'' group organised by different associations. This year, buyers groups organised by Plastic Industry Manufacturers of Australia (PIMA), Malaysia Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA), Vietnam Plastics Association (VPA), Vietnam Saigon Plastic Association (VSPA), are expected to attend. During the exhibitors'' briefing, Mr. Fu An, President of Guangdong Plastics Industry Association, said that this particular edition of Chinaplas in Guangzhou is held at a crucial time as China and the rest of the world try to overcome and survive the global economic downturn. It is also an event that hopes to see the effective implementation of China''s 4 trillion yuan investment before 2010, in the areas of infrastructure, improvement of people''s livelihood and the expansion of domestic demand. Chinaplas 2009 has received overwhelming response from various industries related to plastics. Numerous companies have confirmed and reserved their booths, including chemical and raw materials suppliers such as BASF, ExxonMobil Chemical, Lanxess, Sumitomo Chemical, SABIC; as well as suppliers of machinery and equipment, such as Chen Hsong Group, KraussMaffei, Mold-Masters, ENGEL, Coperion, Zerma. Along with domestic enterprises' increasing awareness towards brand building, the number of domestic exhibitors is expected to hit new record in the 2009 edition.
