Innovations galore at Thailand's manufacturing expo

 Manufacturing Expo 2011, Thailand's leading trade exhibition that opened from 23 to 26 June at Bitec Bangkok, offered overflowing business opportunities in the Asia region.
 

Napaphat Tesaphat, sales engineer of Delcam (Thailand) explained to me the highlighted innovation at the Delcam booth . Delcam for Solid Works is a new Solid Works solution partner product developed by the largest CAM development team in the world. It integrates the feature-based technology from FeatureCAM with PowerMILL's best in class multi-threaded toolpath algorithms into one completely embedded solution, through the SolidWorks CAD system. Tesaphat said that Delcam for SolidWorks has been developed in response to requests from customers looking to undertake their CAM programming   from within the SolidWorks environment. It offers 2-axis, 3-axis and 5-axis positional milling and drilling, and can on one hand enable users to perform simple, automated operations or on the other hand, machine complex shapes in a single setup. Based on Delcam's proven machining algorithms that are already used by more than 30,000 customers around the world, the technology is fully incorporated into the SolidWorks environment so that the program looks and behaves like SolidWorks.
