Intelligent solutions for polyurethanes

At UTECH 2009, Bayer MaterialScience will present the latest developments for climate protection with its insulating materials, lightweight components and innovative process technologies for both production and processing. BaySystems ?the umbrella brand for the global polyurethane systems operations of Bayer MaterialScience - showed its series of promising applications for a broad range of industries, including the automotive, building and refrigeration sectors. The company also unveiled its new polyurethane applications in the field of rigid and flexible foams, offering particularly suitable raw materials, e.g. special polyols. According to figures from the IPCC, energy consumption in buildings accounts for almost 20% of total greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. Bayer MaterialScience has developed an array of innovative solutions that help cut energy consumption and thus reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The company is currently building an office and exhibition building for its own use close to New Delhi in India, which is designed to generate zero emissions and will consume up to 70% less energy than similar buildings in the area.
