ISO 22000 for Quality Food Company

MEAT processor Quality Food Company was recently accredited by SGS with the ISO 22000 certificate, the most recent food safety and quality ISO standard. The company, a member of the Nuqul Group, is the first in the Jordanian food industry to acquire the certification. The ISO 22000 standard, published in September 2005, combines generally recognised key elements to ensure food safety along the entire food chain including: interactive communication; system management; control of food safety hazards through pre-requisite programmes and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point plans; and continual improvement and updating of the management system. Quality Food, whose brands include "Unium", was also the first meat company in Jordan to receive the Jordanian Quality Mark for all of its product range.
