New Danone Bangladesh plant well underway

GROUP Danone''s second dairy project with microfinancing institution Grameen Bank in Bangladesh is well underway, CEO Franck Riboud told reporters at the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Grameen Danone Foods Ltd. buy the main ingredients of fresh cow''s milk and date molasses from local producers, provide factory jobs and involve local villagers in marketing. Farmers are given microcredit to buy cows or automate molasses production to improve their supplies.
