This year, the German pavilion at ProPak Vietnam boasts over 25 exhibitors, making it the country with one of the most participants to the show. This is a clear indication of the strong partnership that exists between countries. Germany has been recording higher exports to Viet Nam recently. In 2012, it accounted for 10% of Viet Nam’s total imports of food processing and packaging machinery which amounted to €310 million.
According to reports, Germany exported about €41 million worth of food processing and packaging equipment to Viet Nam in 2013, a growth of 68% compared to the previous year. Exports of plastic and rubber machinery reached €11 million, or 83% increase, for the same period.
Viet Nam aims to achieve an annual GDP growth of 5.6-5.8% in 2014. As it expects its food & beverage industry to grow further, it will continue to import equipment, and rely on German technology.
