Sino Legend showcases state-of-the-art production facility

ZHANGJIAGANG CITY, China -- Sino Legend (Zhangjiagang) Chemical Co, Ltd, the largest Asian manufacturer of resins for the tire and rubber industries, has begun showcasing its state-of-the-art production facility as it looks to establish a greater presence in North American and European markets.

The company broke ground on its Zhangjiagang City plant in mid-2007, located approximately 80 miles from Shanghai. Built to exacting specifications with future global expansion in mind, the facility has already doubled its production volume owing to increased demand.

"When we began designing the plant, the intent was to construct it equal to or above Western standards as a strategic advantage for global growth," said Mr Corey Xie, deputy manager, Sino Legend. "This took the form of sophisticated automation systems, quality assurance protocols and monitoring, and strict environmental controls. The result is the most advanced facility of its type in the world."

Investment in the plant has been substantial, winning praise and business from a large number of multinational tire manufacturers for elements such as: 

*  A green-focused production process that uses less water than competitive methods. Any water used is also subject to an on-site environmental remediation process, then secondary treatment at facilities within Sino Legend's industrial park.

* A multi-level, gravity-fed process flow to optimize efficiency of manufacturing and distribution, as well as to minimize energy consumption.

* An adjustable pastillation process for delivering a highly uniform product regardless of natural humidity levels and temperatures, which can fluctuate by season.

* A containment structure to ensure that raw materials remain within a sealed system should there be an inadvertent tank discharge.
