When partnership brings multiple benefits

Based in Singapore, Inzign Pte Ltd. is an award-winning niche contract manufacturer specialising in plastics injection moulding and the assembly of disposable medical and healthcare devices for the global market. Since 2003, the company has also produced topquality plastic products for the medical sector using high-precision SynErgy machines from Netstal.
 International Plastics News for Asia (IRNA) gathered the insights of Inzign Founder and Managing Director, Mr.Phua Swee Hoe, on how this strong ties with equipment manufacturer Netstal- Maschinen AG, brought multiple benefits to its operations.

IRNA: Please provide a background on Inzign and its products.
Phua: Based in Singapore, Inzign Pte Ltd. was established in 1981 under the name Techplas Mold Pte. Ltd. We started off as a tool making specialist and in 1987, we began to focus on plastic moulding for the medical devices and developed a reputation for being a prestigious supplier for customers in the injection moulding industry. The year 2003 marked our entry into medical device for contract manufacturing.
 Inzign currently employs 150 employees who work over a six-day week and in a three-shift operation. Our disposable medical products are used in a variety of applications and meet the most stringent customer requirements. These include a whole range of medical components, including syringes, IV sets, inhaler and other medical devices. To maintain the high standards of quality of our products, we only enter into long-term cooperation with selected partners from the various sectors.

IRNA: How would you describe your current partnership with Netstal?
Phua: In 2003, to successfully establish the company as fast as possible in the market manufacturing first-rate medical components, Inzign placed its trust on Netstal's support from the very outset - a decision that immediately proved to be the right one for us.
 Through comprehensive and expert consulting, Netstal was quickly able to provide us with our specifications and in a short time, the first SynErgy machine was installed. The current machine park encompasses two machines, each with a clamping force of 1200 kN.
 SynErgy machines from Netstal are characterised by five basic strengths: speed, precision, reliability, user-friendliness and operational efficiency. In particular, this user-friendly, highperformance machine displays its capabilities to the full when meeting our complex requirements with respect to moulded parts and the injection moulding process.
 We found that the injection moulding machine from Netstal is the ideal solution. The durability, process consistency and high speed of Netstal machines were the factors that tipped the balance in favor of this future cooperative relationship. Through joint cooperation defined by superlative efficiency, Inzign and Netstal have acquired an immense amount of experience in this area over the years.

IRNA: How would you assess Inzign's performance so far?
Phua: We remain one of the top suppliers to the medical sector in Asia, other customers include the USA, Japan and Europe. Inzign's output figures also confirm the corporate strategy of manufacturing high-quality plastic products with partners and suppliers at three different locations in Singapore and Indonesia.
