$200M deal for world biggest smelter complex inked

Amulti-year contractual service agreement (CSA) between GE Energy and Emirates Aluminium (Emal) has been finalised as the completion of what is believed as the world''s biggest single-site aluminium smelter complex comes closer to an end. As part of th e d eal, GE Energy will provide multiple services for the gas turbines, which are designed with modernised emission control technologies to aid Emal lower its carbon footprint and respond to the regulatory requisites provided by the Abu Dhabi Environmental Agency. Phase 1 of the project will create an installed capacity of over 2,000mW of electricity to be employed in the manufacturing of 700,000 tonnes of aluminium per year, while Phase 2 will raise capacity to 1.4 million tonnes of aluminium annually.Alphabounce Beyond M
