The Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety (ADAFSA), in cooperation with national centers in the UAE, has launched the Abu Dhabi Agricultural Genome Program. This is in line with the UAE's strategy to boost its food security, and become a leader in this undertaking.
According to ADAFSA, the program will create a gene bank, and apply the best international practices in agricultural genetic research. It is part of Abu Dhabi's food abundance plan initiatives that consider the importance of genetics in solving food security challenges.
The program will be carried out under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety. Read more
