The much-anticipated Food Taipei Mega Shows 2024 has officially begun, commencing on June 26 and will continue until the 29th at Nangang International Exhibition Center, Hall 1 and Hall 2. The Mega Shows include Food Taipei, Foodtech Taipei, Bio/Pharmatech Taiwan, Taipei Pack, and Taiwan Horeca, offering a platform for more than 1,600 local and overseas exhibitors to showcase their products and services nearly 4,500 booths, a notable increase from last year that also indicates the rebound of the food industry and its immense potential.

This year, the events bring together key players in Taiwan, including Fwusow Industry, Anyong Freshmart, Lian-Hwa Foods Corp, Chi Mei Frozen Food, DaChan Great Wall, Hundred Machinery, ANKO Food Machine, HIWIN, Chanmag, Yifang Sealing Machine, Benison, Catamona, UNOX, Steel Buffalo (TS), and TP-Link. Additionally, global businesses from 31 countries/ regions are also showcasing their finest products and tantalizing cuisines. Visitors can enjoy a diverse array of specialties from around the world. For example, the Czech Republic pavilion amazes visitors with their premium chocolate and various types of grains; Saint Lucia presents their flavorful local condiments and herbal tea; and Spain, returning after a five-year hiatus, showcases their much-anticipated pork products. The Food Taipei Mega Shows 2024 focus on two main themes – Food for Future and Food Safety & Sustainability. In collaboration with the Food Industry Research and Development Institute, TAITRA has set up a Future Food Pavilion where visitors can explore innovative products and technology under three core concepts: Low Carbon Food, Smart Precision Tech, and Circular Sustainability.

AI application in the industry

A notable highlight of this year’s trade show is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the food industry. For example, leading companies such as Beckhoff, ifm, ANStek, and Chieftek Precision (CPC) showcase automation, monitoring, and miniature robotic arm technologies. These innovations aim to enhance transparency in the food supply chain, ensure food safety and quality, maintain productivity, and help companies to stay competitive in the market.

New: Green Vision Award

To drive green transformation in the industry, the event is introducing the Green Vision Award this year to recognize businesses who have excelled in ESG practices, and 9 exhibitors were awarded and given Green Vision emblems. Details of their ESG initiatives are now available on the exhibition's website. Additionally, the trade show is going green by adopting limited eco-friendly tote bags. These bags, sponsored by established manufacturer Tienyih and sourced from Da Fon Environmental Technology, are produced using environmentally friendly practices and materials that do not emit toxic gasses when burned, which further demonstrates the event’s commitment to sustainability.

The Mega Shows also feature several notable events, including Food Taipei Forum, Daily Savory, and Foods Mosaic: Influencers Tour. Food Taipei Forum will be held on June 27th, centering around four major themes: Trend, Technology, Innovation, and Competitiveness. The forum will bring together experts from the global food sector to look into the latest innovation, sustainability practices, and technological trends.
