The physical edition of TaipeiPLAS is scheduled to be held from September 27 to October 1 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 (TaiNEX 1) in conjunction with ShoeTech Taipei. TaipeiPLAS 2022 will focus on several themes, "Industry 4.0," "Smart Machinery" and "Circular Economy - Net Zero Carbon Emissions" that echo the latest trends in the plastics and rubber industry. As a hybrid event, TaipeiPLAS 2022 online exhibition will also be presented from September 27 to October 27, 2022.

The exhibition will feature major companies engaged in plastics and rubber processing in Taiwan and abroad, among them CHEN HSONG, CYKF, DIING KUEN, FCS, FKI, HUARONG, LIENFA, MULTIPLAS, POLYSTAR, VICTOR TAICHUNG, YE I, ANN TONG, ARBURG, BASF, ENGEL, WITTMANN BATTENFELD, and more. With 300 exhibitors occupying a total of 1,300 booths, TaipeiPLAS 2022 retains its critical position as Asia’s most iconic plastics, rubber & shoemaking machinery trade show of the year.

As Taiwan is gradually easing border restrictions, Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has reopened incentive programs for inbound arrivals. Currently, only three-day indoor quarantine, followed by four-day self-health management, are required. It is worth noting that during the self-health management period, overseas visitors are allowed to visit trade shows with face masks on, and maintain social distancing at the showground. This easing of border restrictions is expected to benefit the exhibition as organiser, TAITRA and its branch offices around the world, have received multiple enquiries about delegation visits to TaipeiPLAS 2022 from India, Japan, and Vietnam.

To help overseas visitors feel more at home, the upcoming TaipeiPLAS has made the trade show as easy as possible for visitors to attend by initiating a variety of services, according to TAITRA. Starting from June, TAITRA has launched pre-show monthly theme-based campaigns to unveil the highlights of TaipeiPLAS with social media news, introductions to representative exhibitors, e-newsletters and videos. In July, the theme “Innovation” highlighted a wide range of applications and innovations developed by the plastics and rubber industry for EV, health care, aerospace and green construction sectors.

For well-known brands from Taiwan and abroad, TaipeiPLAS is the perfect platform to demonstrate dynamics of their innovations and the drive towards smart manufacturing is expected to take centre stage. For example, ARBURG, a global leader of injection moulding machines for plastics processing, will introduce the fibre direct compounding technology, which are applied particularly within the automotive and aerospace sectors. Another exhibitor, HUARONG, a master in spin-form diversified multi-injection, will showcase the latest models to meet the demand for customised multi-colour and intelligent LED lights. FCS and FKI for example, the two leading plastic injection moulding machine manufacturers in Taiwan have integrated Manufacturing Execution System (MES) into every section of their machine production and assembly lines and these will be promoted at the exhibition. Multiple benefits are achieved, including more accurate production control, improved quality management and production cost reduction. Taiwan plastic and rubber machinery manufacturers are transforming to become smarter, and at the same time, providing a full line of services in building smart production lines overseas.

In addition to the  live exhibition, TaipeiPLAS is rolling out a slate of hybrid events and services, including Sustainability Forum, On-site Guide for Online Visitors, PLASpotlight Live, themed guided tours, procurement meetings and a month-long online exhibition from  September 27 to October 27. The online registration is available on www.taipeiplas.com.tw  and www.shoetech.com.tw.
