International Metalworking News for Asia had the privilege of interviewing Ms. Yi-Hui Lee, CEO & Counselor of Restart Technology Corp., during the ASEAN Advanced Automotive Manufacturing Summit in Chonburi, Thailand.

In this insightful discussion, Ms. Lee shared the secrets behind RTC’s success, their unwavering commitment to core values, and their innovative approaches in both manufacturing and sustainability. Here are the highlights of our conversation.

IMNA: Ms. Can you tell us about the company and its market position?

Ms. Lee: It's a pleasure to be here. Restart Technology Corporation (RTC) is one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers of customized CNC lathe total solutions. We've maintained a solid market position and outstanding performance for over 30 years. Our success stems from our unwavering commitment to our core philosophy of 'Heritage,' 'Sustainability,' 'Mutual Benefit,' and 'Influence.

IMNA: That's impressive. Could you elaborate on the services that RTC offers?

Ms. Lee: Certainly. Our main services include customised OEM/ODM solutions specifically tailored for transportation components. We've actively expanded into the global market, including the United States, Mexico, Japan, Austria, and the Philippines. We've established a favourable reputation through high-quality products and long-term cooperation with well-known brands like BOMBARDIER, SYM, KYMCO, and KEIKI TOKYO.

Our core customised transportation component products include drive shafts, gears, and bushings, which make up 60% of our production. Mechanical lock fasteners account for approximately 25%, and the remaining 15% consists of other customised components, commonly made from materials such as alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and copper. We offer services for providing materials based on customer requirements or processing customer-supplied materials into finished products. Additionally, we have no minimum order quantity (MOQ) limit, accommodating various production needs from new product trial development to small, medium, and large-scale production.

Our production supply chain is certified with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 16949, AS 9100, and ISO 14064-1, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability.

IMNA: How do the values of 'Heritage,' 'Sustainability,' 'Mutual Benefit,' and 'Influence' shape your business operations?

Ms. Yi-Hui Lee: These values are at the heart of everything we do. 'Heritage' emphasises the importance of our history and the quality that comes with it. 'Sustainability' drives us to adopt practices that protect and enhance the environment. 'Mutual Benefit' ensures that our partnerships and collaborations are equitable and beneficial for all parties involved. Lastly, 'Influence' reflects our aim to positively impact the industry and society through innovation and responsible practices.

IMNA: You mentioned ESG Corporate Sustainability Solution Projects. Can you tell us more about that?

Ms. Lee: Absolutely. Our ESG initiatives are spearheaded by Jannice, a second-generation enterprise sustainability advocate. She holds comprehensive certifications, including ISO 14064-1 Lead Auditor, ISO 14067 Internal Auditor, and ISO 9001:2015 Consultant. Her philosophy focuses on leveraging her transformational experience and resource integration capabilities to assist SMEs through 'SME Transformation, Sustainability Consulting, and Comprehensive Hardware and Software Solution Services.'

This approach aims to enhance businesses' problem-solving capabilities, increase customer service capacity, and boost international competitiveness. Additionally, we help companies establish a 'Sustainable Image' and promote 'Net-Zero Carbon Emissions Initiatives and Policies' to protect the Earth.

IMNA: It sounds like RTC is deeply committed to making a difference. What's next for the company?

Ms. Lee: We're continually exploring new technologies and innovations to enhance our offerings. Our focus remains on providing top-quality, customised solutions while expanding our sustainability initiatives. We believe that by staying true to our values, we can continue to grow and make a significant impact in the industry.

IMNA: Thank you for sharing your insights, Ms. Lee. We look forward to seeing RTC's continued success and contributions to the industry.

Ms. Lee: Thank you for having me. It's been a pleasure discussing RTC's journey and future with you.
