Peter Steinl, Managing Partner of the Steinl Group, stated: "The DKT is more than an exhibition for us, it is a hub of innovation for the elastomer processing industry. Things are moving here. We look forward to welcoming many of you to our booth in Nuremberg and tackling the manufacturing technologies of the future together."
Automated and Versatile
The VCRS1000 is a C-frame machine with a rotary table. The featured machine develops a clamping force of 1,000 kN and is equipped with an 85 ccm RS elastomer injection unit. The rotary table, with a diameter of 1,600 mm, can accommodate two lower mold halves, each measuring 750 mm x 550 mm.
At the DKT, a fully integrated 6-axis robot will load the mold with metallic inserts and remove the vulcanized demo product, a bottle opener. After reaching a predefined temperature, the part is transferred to a cooling station and ejected from the production cell.
The mold used at the DKT by M. Huber I.T.Σ. GmbH has two cavities and features a cold runner system with a tool cavity pressure-controlled needle shut-off. The control of this cold runner system is seamlessly integrated into the LWB machine control system.
Innovative Machine Design and Integration
The machine series presented at the DKT features the modern design language of the updated machine design. This has been completely redeveloped. The covers and the consistent integration of functions create a tidy overall appearance, further emphasized by a new color scheme. This modernized design will also be gradually applied to other LWB machines in the future.
Digitization and Automation at the Highest Level
The full integration of the needle shut-off cold runner control, power, and flow measurement into the machine control system demonstrates the high level of digitization of the new C-frame machine. LWB's integrated automation, including an insert magazine and a cooling device, also ensures efficient and smooth production.
Efficiency and Sustainability
Parallelizing processes on the rotary table significantly reduces cycle time, while the needle shut-off cold runner technology ensures high material efficiency. The machine is designed to manufacture high-quality products cost-effectively and resource-efficiently.
Wide Range of Applications and Economic Benefits
The versatility of the system makes it suitable for use in various industries, from electronics to medical technology and the automotive industry. Its compact design also saves space in production.
The exhibit at the DKT exemplifies LWB's ability to effectively implement customized and technologically advanced solutions, meeting the specific needs of its customers.
