The value chain of the plastic packaging industry is confronted with numerous new requirements. Reinhard Priller, Sales Director at Brückner Maschinenbau GmbH, shares industry outlook for 2025 and how the company will respond to key trends.

The value chain of the plastic packaging industry is confronted with numerous new requirements. Sustainability, circular economy, recycling and the associated laws and regulations as well as customer behavior are certainly among the most important.

Mr. Reinhard Priller, Sales Director, Brückner Maschinenbau GmbH

Brückner Maschinenbau’s new generation of film stretching lines is the most energy saving ever in the market. We optimised our heat recovery system and our special energy monitor, which gives permanent information about energy saving potentials in film production. Because of the increasing urgency of recycling and reusability, another Brückner focus is on mono-material films for a circular economy. Together with various partners Brückner has developed mono-material packaging solutions. Besides BOPP and BOPET, a new opportunity is opening up with BOPE by utilising a widely available PE recycling stream. As the demand for innovative BOPE films is only now starting to develop, Brückner’s unique hybrid lines allow to react swiftly and flexibly to market trends by also producing BOPP specialties such as UHB films and coated films.

Brückner has been emphasizing the benefits of our technologies to meet current and future demand. The battery separator film line concepts guarantee high energy efficiency, low production costs and consistent film quality. Also, the latest stretching technologies for composite current collector films enable downgauging, weight saving, reduction of metal as well as increased safety and an outstanding energy density. The sequential as well as simultaneous stretching lines to manufacture extremely thin and high-temperature capacitor films for EV and renewable energy applications in the power industry. The    BOPP line concepts boast of previously unattained line speed of 700m/min and an output of 82,000 TPA for utmost efficiency.

For Brueckner Group Asia Pacific, our platform company in Thailand held its inauguration of its new facilities in November last year, and this marked a significant milestone serving to the organisation´s commitment to their customers in the ASEAN region. Especially, Brueckner Group Asia-Pacific is a front-runner in high-quality manufacturing, specialising in stretching ovens for battery separator film lines. The facility, spanning 16,300 sqm in the WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, Rayong, Thailand, also houses a fully equipped centre for the high-precision reprocessing of film stretching lines’ clips and chains.
