SI Group has launched REZICURE HYDRO T8-7900, a phenol modified bio-based tackifier for use in water-based polychloroprene adhesives. This new addition to SI Group’s product portfolio was unveiled at the 2022 World Adhesive & Sealant Conference.
REZICURE HYDRO T8-7900 can accelerate film formation and adhesive set up when formulated as a co-tackifier in polychloroprene adhesives. The product can improve bond strength to wood, while offering enhanced high-temperature resistance. A recent in-house study showed that increasing the proportion of REZICURE HYDRO T8-7900 to above 50% of a solution can improve adhesive strength in wood adhesive applications.
Its compelling properties make it an excellent choice for applications that require the ability to withstand heat or need long-lasting adhesion. These capabilities, combined with its ability to accelerate the drying process, mean that REZICURE HYDRO T8-7900 could significantly improve leading water-based adhesive products.
“Our customers need solutions that can help them achieve new standards for performance, and we are excited about growing our range of water-based products to help our customers succeed in this vital area,” said Ken Lauffer, Adhesives Market Development Director at SI Group. “Slow drying time compared to the solvent is a key limitation of water-based systems. Our REZICURE HYDRO T8-7900 product enables adhesives to dry more rapidly, which should expand the applications for water-based adhesives.”
The launch of this product comes as an extension of SI Group’s commitment to supplying its customers with leading products in the adhesives market.
