Food waste to be processed as larvae lunch
The new hub will focus research on Anti-Microbial Peptides, Chitin, and Chitin derived products in addition to serving as its global analytical chemistry reference lab. The Singapore team will also conduct larvae feed trials using local organic waste streams available in the Asia region.
“We are very excited about the opportunities for our business in Asia and creating a global hub in Singapore will help us drive further expansion in the region as well as support our business globally,” said CEO Jason Drew.
The global hub is led by John Diener, COO of AgriProtein, who commented: “Singapore offers an excellent combination of deep talent pools in the domains we needed, so it was an easy choice to establish our global hub here. We appreciate the support of the Singapore Economic Development Board in assisting us with opening our site in Science Park II.”
