Airnov Healthcare Packaging, a company specializing in controlled atmosphere packaging, has achieved a significant milestone in its sustainability efforts. The company's plant in Romorantin, France, has received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification.
ISCC is a well-known sustainability certification program that aims to promote the transition to a more circular economy. The ISCC PLUS certificate ensures that products contribute to this approach by utilizing renewable feedstock.
In addition, the certification provides a traceability guarantee to customers. Airnov's ISCC mass balance method allows bio-circular feedstock mixed with virgin materials in a certifiable and fully traceable process.
Yann Magis, Romorantin Site Manager at Airnov, remarked on the significance of the certification: "Achieving ISCC PLUS underlines Airnov’s commitment to providing responsible and sustainable solutions for our customers. We constantly strive to create processes that add value to products, improve customer and employee experiences, and reduce our environmental impact."
Incorporating renewable feedstock has no impact on product performance metrics, ensuring that products maintain the same technical specifications and regulatory compliance. Airnov offers a variety of standard products, including capsules, tubes, and stoppers, that can be produced under the ISCC certification.
Customers can contact Airnov to verify whether a product is ISCC certified, ensuring they receive products that align with their sustainability values.
Mélissa Plantier, Product Manager at Airnov, noted that customers increasingly seek environmentally responsible solutions. "They want to be more responsible in their manufacturing processes, and some are looking to become carbon neutral in the not-too-distant future," she said. "This naturally leads to more customers asking Airnov about how we manage our company because they want more responsible partners in their supply chains."
The ISCC PLUS certification is the latest in a series of sustainability initiatives completed by Airnov. The company is continually developing and implementing a range of measures to reduce its environmental footprint, including measuring carbon footprints and various energy and waste reduction schemes. The Romorantin site serves as a flagship example of how to promote circularity in operations and inspire future developments.
