Aswaaq preps for HACCP certification

AFTER the launch of Aswaaq''s first supermarket in Nad al Hamar in October 2008, and the plan to open 40 supermarkets in Dubai in the next five years, the company has started implementing food and safety protocols in preparation for the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification. "As part of our commitment to safety and quality control, we are working at full capacity to get global licences and widen our international and worldwide recognition. With HACCP and eventually ISO 22000 certification and ensuring that every standard is maintained year in year out are our primary goals," said Abdul Basset Al Janahi, CEO, Aswaaq. Al Janahi said the implementation of HACCP protocols at Aswaaq "will increase consumer confidence and create a more pleasant shopping experience for every customer." Aswaaq has audited all supplier facilities, given system awareness and training, and internal audits and system reviews, and given mandatory safety and quality training for staff as well as prepared a HACCP manual that will provide details of all food production processes and analysis tools to identify potential areas of risk in the production chain.NIke Dunk SB Low
