Borouge has launched 2 PP blown film grades that are now already generating great interest in the flexible packaging industry. To be produced in the Borstar PP plant in Abu Dhabi in year 2010, Borouge is currently premarketing these two grades to flexible packaging converters. The first grade is a PP random copolymer grade Borclear?RB707CF. As a monolayer film, the material offers very good optical properties, with a haze value of < 10%, and a stiffness level comparable to a HDPE film of density 0.950 g/cm3. Being a random copolymer, films made of Borclear?RB707CF can achieve good sealing performance, with sterilization possible at temperatures up to 121℃. Borclear™; RB707CF can also be coextruded with LLDPE on the surface layers without the need for a tie layer. Typical applications for Borclear™;RB707CF include lamination film, food packaging film and consumer products packaging film. The second grade launched is a PP block copolymer grade Borpact™; BC918CF. Based on proprietary Borealis Nucleation Technology (BNT), Borpact™; BC918CF is a highly crystalline material with a special kind of rubber phase, which is named as Ethylene Propylene Interpolymer (EPI). The BNT allows the Borpact™; BC918CF blown film to crystallize faster and more extensively than standard PP block copolymers. One good application of Borpact™;BC918CF is in stand up pouch (SUP), as well as label film, lidding film and stationary film, cast film and can be used in sheet extrusion / thermoforming. www.borouge.comSNEAKERS
