CHINAPLAS 2016: Safe and environment-friendly isosorbide solutions from Roquette

It’s the fourth time that Roquette participated at CHINAPLAS. For this show, Roquette brought the isosorbide POLYSORB® and the bio-based isosorbide diester POLYSORB®ID. The Global Market Manager Performance Materials of Roquette, Ms. Florianne Coutant introduced:” POLYSORB® isosorbide as being highly pure. This sustainable diol is obtained by dehydration of sorbitol, a derivative of starch, for which Roquette is the leading world producer. It offers value or opportunities to develop successful and sustainable applications. POLYSORB® ID isosorbide diester, entirely made from renewable raw materials, is considered as a green alternative to traditional plasticizers, such as phthalates, and is intended in particular for the production of soft PVC.”

POLYSORB® ID has been approved by REACH and PCPC, which can be used in the products that allow direct contact to end users, such as hospital floor.

Ms. Coutant also mentioned that POLYSORB®  is manufactured only at the company's plant in France, which Roquette set up in 2015 to expand capabilities and is the biggest isosorbide plant around the world.
