A direct evolution of FIMIC’s RAS melt filter, ERA represents the new screen changer generation, pushing flexibility to its highest levels. It allows to process even more contaminated materials, while saving energy thanks to its double filtration chamber, specifically designed for materials that need two filtration steps.
ERA is made of two internal filtration chambers and two independent discharge valves, thus enabling to setup a pre-filtration on the first step and a finer one in the second, all in the same machine. This means, in short, the possibility of using cheap punched screens (400-2000 micron) to protect the expensive laser screens (100-300 micron) coming afterwards. The resulting cost reduction is undeniable, both on the financial and energetic side.
Being able to perform two filtration steps in one is a remarkable advantage as it means savings on energy and investment costs.
ERA allows a significant waste reduction, adjustable by tuning the opening time of the valve. This is a key factor in producing a high quality output, and having this much control further guarantees a result up to your standards.
No melt is too contaminated for ERA, and its double filtration chamber design, in connection with the possibility to equip both punched and laser screens, will allow even the most contaminated of melts to reach the highest quality standards. Furthermore, the use of non-auger valves permits the processing of the most aggressive contaminations like iron and sand, preventing any damage to the screen.
ERA greatly increases the hourly yield of the extruder, since the filter allows the melt to flow seamlessly and without any obstacle. Furthermore, the filtering surface of a single screen changer reaches an impressive (double) 2.776 cm2 thanks to its double filtration chamber design.
