The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has embarked on a capacity-expansion drive in the polyolefins market to realise its ambition of becoming a major global polyolefins production centre. Based on the current planned addition of new capacities, the GCC polyolefins industry is likely to see substantial increase in capacities by 2010 in a bid to push demand for polyethylene and polypropylene in the GCC. The governments in the GCC are now eyeing low costs and abundant feedstock in the region to promote downstream industries for further diversification and development. "The GCC Governments are initiating multiple strategies to help GCC countries to grow from being exporters of polyolefins to exporters of finished polyolefin products," according to Frost & Sullivan Research Associate Eshwaran Raghavan.Nike SB Hyperfeel Koston 3
