Givaudan today opened its new laboratory and office facilities in Pakistan, making it the first global flavors company to do so in this country.
The 800-meter-square facility in Karachi will strengthen the company’s capabilities in beverages, snacks and sweet goods offering flavor application services for all sectors with a strong focus on sweet goods and beverages.
Local customers will experience faster response to their requirements as well as access to fully Halal-compliant international flavor profiles and access to Givaudan’s capabilities and training for local technologists and manufacturers.
Chief Executive Officer, Gilles Andrier said, “This investment reflects Pakistan’s importance to Givaudan and our commitment to further expand our existing market-leading position. With a population of 200 million and strong growth potential, Pakistan fits with our overall 2020 strategy of investment in high growth markets.”
Commenting on the inauguration of the new facility, Faizan Kalim, Commercial Director Pakistan, Givaudan Flavours, said: “Givaudan is proud to be the first global flavors company to open in Pakistan. This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our regional and local customers to meet the growing needs for innovative products and great taste experiences.”
The investment is in line with Givaudan’s 2020 strategy to target high growth markets. Previously, the company opened offices in Guatemala, Ivory Coast and Algeria.
