High-capacity laser cutting

The 10.0 kW machines offer laser users ultra-high speed cutting of medium thickness material and have the ability to cut the finest widths and most difficult reflective materials. The 10.0 kW 3015 FIBER III variant is able to process workpieces up to 1525 mm x 3000 mm. Another machine in the range, the OPTIPLEX 4020 FIBER III 10.0 kW, can process workpieces up to 2000 mm x 4000 mm.

As well as offering an significant reduction in cycle time compared to its predecessors, the new machine also benefits from lower running costs associated with fibre technology, due to a circa 80 per cent reduction in oscillator electrical power consumption and a 100 per cent reduction in laser gas consumption, compared to CO₂ lasers.

Positioning accuracy is maintained across the machine to within ±0.05mm / 500mm in the X- and Y-axes and to within ±0.01 mm / 100mm in the Z-axis. The machine also offers exceptional repeatability accuracy ±0.03 mm in the X-, Y- and Z-axes, and high productivity thanks to rapid traverse rates of 120m / min in the X- and Y-axes.

The 3015 FIBER III is equipped with a host of unique Intelligent Set-up Functions, including automatic torch and nozzle changing, as well as automatic focus detection and positioning to improve ease of use and optimise piercing performance.

The machine also benefits from Mazak’s suite of Intelligent Monitoring Functions, such as pierce, plasma and burn detection; alongside Intelligent Cutting Functions. These include Fine Power Ramping mode, which eliminates dross during high speed straight and corner cutting; and Flash Cut mode, which turns the laser on/off without stopping axis movement, to reduce cutting time.

The 3015 FIBER III 10.0 kW laser processing machines is equipped with Mazak Multi-Control Torch, which enables optimum cutting for both thick and thin worksheets, due to its automatic set-up function. The machine is controlled using the MAZATROL PreviewG CNC for increased ease of operation.

Yamazaki Mazak has extended the power output of its most popular laser processing machines to 10.0 kW – with the introduction of the OPTIPLEX 3015 FIBER III 10.0 kW at Blechexpo 2019.
