In light of these difficult and challenging circumstances, Siemens Digital Industries Software has launched the 2020 Media & Analyst Conference virtually, International Metalworking News for Asia reports.  

The two-day premier annual event for media and industry analysts’ event brings together Siemens’ top-level executives and subject matter experts. Close to 300 attendees registered for Day 1. Below are some highpoints during the virtual live session.

Key differentiators, highlights on Realize LIVE

Brenda Discher, Senior Vice President - Business Strategy and Marketing, Siemens Digital Industries Software talked about three differentiators that makes Siemens unique: 1) Comprehensive Digital Twin, 2) Personalized Adaptable/Modern and 3) Flexible Open Ecosystem.

”These three critical areas are important for our customers. That is why they have chosen to partner with us. Speaking of our customers we have seen how they have changed rapidly in ways we have never expected. This shows how we thrive and grow even in these last months of challenging situation,” she said.

In addition, Brenda previewed highlights from Realize LIVE 2020, as well as updates on Siemens strategy including examples on how their technology is impacting customers across industries.  

Teamcenter, Xcelerator, partnership with IBM

Tony Hemmelgarn, President and CEO opened his keynote speech by explaining that the times of crisis have historically driven innovation. He announced Teamcenter X, a new software that serves as a service solution. It allows companies of all sizes to quickly implement, scale, and integrate industry-leading PLM technology. Access to Teamcenter on the cloud helps enable quicker creation and delivery of a complete digital twin, with multi-domain design and bill of materials integration.

Tony also talked about the Xcelerator portfolio, which helps companies of all sizes create and leverage digital twins that provide organizations with new insights, opportunities and levels of automation to drive innovation.

During the course of his speech, Tony revealed two new products: 1) Teamcenter Share: a design centric project collaboration and 2) Teamcenter X: an instant-on PLM across the lifecycle.

He also highlighted Siemens partnership with IBM to establish a digital thread between product design, equipment manufacturers and owner/operators to help reduce equipment downtime and increase production capacity. The partnership combines elements of Siemens’ Xcelerator portfolio and IBM Maximo to continuously improve product performance, maintenance and operations.
