A range of hot runners were introduced offering customers with an array of options that allow for cost reduction and greater efficiency. Husky Injection Molding Systems announced the expansion of its PRONTO甽ine of fully configurable hot runners. The new PRONTO line provided customers with significantly more design flexibility and a larger number of configuration options. "PRONTO has been a fundamental part of our hot runner platform for the past 10 years," said David Whiffen, Husky's Director of Marketing, Hot Runners. "Our goal is to offer manufacturing solutions that are optimized for each application. The PRONTO program allows us to do this faster and at a price that is up to 20% less than comparable customized systems." The Husky PRONTO program offers customized hot runners and simple integration for the cost of a standard hot runner. The system can be tailored for each customer's specific application, providing rapid delivery of fully configurable complete hot halves or manifold systems. PRONTO's expansion highlights include over 100 manifold layouts, more than doubling the scope of the existing PRONTO program to accommodate a much wider range of applications; significantly increased flexibility of plate sizes and pitch spacing; as well as expanded nozzle options, including Ultra 350, 500 and 750 nozzles with hot tip and valve gate options available for all three nozzles. Improved cycle time and processing capability INCOE?also launched its newly developed series of hot runner systems designed for the processing of commodity grade resins used in hi-cavitation molding. Its QUICK-FLOTM (QF) systems are now available in addition to INCOE?s successful line of DIRECT-FLOTM (DF) Gold hot runners which are ideal for technical part molding with up to 1000g shot weights per nozzle. QF systems are used specifically for caps/closures, medical disposables, pharmaceutical, and packaging applications which demand maximum output, repeatable part quality and superior cosmetics. Nozzles are available in three popular sizes with flow channel diameters of 3mm, 5mm and 8mm, and with shot ranges of 3g-375g. Gating options include thermal tip and valve gate with tips manufactured using highly conductive materials for optimal thermal response. John Blundy, V.P. Business Development for INCOE畇tated, "QUICK-FLOTM system designs incorporate our proven and reliable hot runner technology along with added features necessary for the intended purpose and markets served. Newly developed nozzles use our proven twin heater technology for failsafe operation. The heater is profiled into the QF nozzle body with a compact design suited for close pitch hi-cavitation molds, and the higher pressures commonly realized." For added processing value, QF systems that use Opti-Flo?manifolds with the Beaumont Technologies Inc. patented MelfFlipper畉echnology, can provide improved cycle times and processing capability. QF systems are packaged in standard cavity layouts common to the hi-cavitation markets, and they are to be sold as complete injection halves. INCOE?s M Series of temperature controls are also available for added productivity and performance. Multi-tip nozzles for efficiency GuNTHER Heisskanaltechnik GmbH, Frankenberg introduced some new developments in its hot runners line. Nozzles with the Octa-Flow type sub-distribution for side gating in 1- to 8-fold applications are one of the further developments of the manufacturer. The nozzles require no split insert. The tips can be changed individually. A heated sub-runner provides for an optimized temperature profile. Thanks to their floating bearings the nozzles can be operated independently of the thermal expansion. This makes it possible to obtain extremely small gate diameters even with large nozzle lengths.
