Marel names Theo Hoen new chief

INDUSTRY veteran Theo Hoen has been chosen to head Marel and Stork Food Systems group of companies as chief executive officer. Hoen has an excellent track record as CEO of Stork Food Systems from 2001 to present and has close to 25 years of experience in the industry, having served in the past as head of R&D and production. Under Hoen''s leadership, Stork has become the global market leader in serving the poultry processing industry and has delivered strong operational results, with a profit from operations of 10% to 12%. Sigsteinn Grétarsson, managing director of Marel ehf, will be part of the management board. Marel, which will remain headquartered in Iceland, is a provider of advanced equipment and systems for the poultry, fish and meat processing industries, with a 15% market share and close to €600 million in revenues.
