Momentive's new manufacturing facility in India

Momentive Performance Materials Inc. announced the inauguration of its new manufacturing facility in Chennai, bringing the number of Momentive's established production plants to 27 globally. With an area covering over 15 acres and a manufacturing capacity to double from the current capacity, the facility has been created to address future expansion needs and underscores the long-term growth plans of the company in India. The facility manufactures silicone fluids and silicone elastomers. In addition to the Indian market, the new plant will serve Momentive's customers in the countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation. Research and development in Chennai will be focused on application development to meet local customer needs.
