New acquisition to expand Azelis distribution network

KODA Distribution Group is being acquired by Azelis as it aims to expand its specialty chemicals and technical services.    

An agreement has been signed between Azelis Group (Azelis) and KODA Distribution Group (KDG) where Azelis will acquire KDG to enhance its position as a leading global specialty chemicals distributor. The transaction remains subject to regulatory clearances and is expected to be finalized by the end of 2015.

This major acquisition by Azelis demonstrates its strong commitment to specialty chemicals and technical service, and its continued objective to grow in this segment.

As a result of the acquisition, KDG will become known as Azelis Americas. Frank Bergonzi, CEO and President of KDG will be appointed CEO and President of Azelis Americas. Azelis Americas will continue to operate in the USA and Canada, applying its existing business model and market strategy in these markets. It will also maintain its regional brands.

According to Hans Joachim Müller, CEO of Azelis, the specialty chemicals market in North America is very important with current trend of suppliers moving their smaller accounts to specialty chemical distributors.
