The digital revolution in the industry had an important presence at the Fagor Arrasate stand V16/Hall W2, where it showed its 4.0 FA Link MAP, Smart Connect and Digital Twin solutions to optimize processes, increase productivity, supervise installations and improve the final quality of the final products. The 24/7 connectivity offered by these systems allows precise traceability of the pieces and enables you to know at all times all the parameters regarding the operation of the equipment. This facilitates predictive maintenance that avoids unexpected downtime and adjusts operation for maximum performance and quality.
The event was the largest metal forming fair in China, every year bringing together more than 400 local and international companies in the sector at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Organized by the Confederation of the Metal Forming Industry of China (CCMI), the fair has a significant presence in the automotive industry. It should be noted that China is the world's largest producer of vehicles, with 28 million units manufactured in 2018, of which 1.1 million were electric. By 2030, the figure will be 11.6 million, according to forecasts by the China Automobile Manufacturers Association (CAAM).
The growing demand for both conventional and electric vehicles which weigh less and less is driving the use of aluminium in the automotive industry, and Fagor Arrasate will present its specific solutions for working with this metal. These are its cutting lines with presses, the so-called blanking lines, which reach productivity levels of up to 8 million pieces per year, both in aluminium and steel.
One of the major trends in the sector, lines with high production rates, the so-called High Speed lines, had a significant presence at the Fagor Arrasate stand. This is its new Servo Hybrid WaveLine installed in an OEM for stamping large body pieces, the first of its kind in Europe. Its speed of up to 15 strokes per minute in aluminium and up to 18 in steel, synchronisation for working in continuous mode, hybrid configuration and digital simulator, make it one of the most advanced lines in the world in its category.
Hot stamping was also be present at the stand, where the new automation concept developed for an OEM line of this type was displayed.
As far as the world of composite is concerned, the latest technological developments in composite systems were presented. These include the ultra-fast consolidating machine (up to 500 kg/hour in the case of the prototype) for the production in series of customised individual preforms, which won the JEC Innovation Award.
