Clear course – even in turbulent waters: Schneider Form celebrates 50 years of mould making

50 years young and in splendid shape is how the Schneider Form GmbH toolmaking company presents itself in its anniversary year. Dr. Louis Schneider was able to welcome about 300 partners and customers in Dettingen/Teck, Germany. The guests saw milestones, experienced the company’s technology “live” and spent a wonderful evening at the anniversary gala, talking about and seeing at first hand a marvellous pioneering spirit and visions from Swabia.

Schneider Form’s 2nd generation: Dr. Louis Schneider with a bumper tool produced in accordance with the Schneider Form Optisize? principle

In his welcoming speech, Dr. Louis Schneider looked back upon the 50 years in which the company has evolved. He thanked the staff for their commitment and their innovative spirit. “All I can say about our staff at the moment is that they are the best team we ever had.”. In a stage production, he dared to provide an outlook and presented a tool project as it may come about in 2031 – as a care free package from the Schneider data cloud"

Shaping the future
Guest speaker Eberhard Weiblen, CEO from Porsche Consulting, praised the company’s persistence. An SME’s flexibility, sound judgement and quality orientation characterised the road to success and made for the slogan: “Steady as she goes – even in turbulent waters.” The speech of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-J?rg Bullinger, President of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, dealt with the automotive industry’s future. A commitment to quality, mobility, energy concepts and a resources-friendly production will be decisive, Prof. Bullinger said.

Bumper pioneer
The Optisize? principle for bumper moulds Schneider Form recently had patented was one of the milestones shown to the guests at the ceremony. Optisize? allows customers to bring compact, unit-cost-optimised tools to SOP with much fewer optimisation loops. And Schneider Form’s own component design department also presented its front and rear-end competence, which has now been extended to include utility vehicles with their high torsion standards.

Know-how partnerships through training
As Dr. Louis Schneider emphasised in a fringe meeting, he relies on a vertical expansion of the value-added chain, a good networking with research institutions and a better understanding of the mould making processes among customers:
Know-how partnerships are established in customised trainings - because “sometimes it simply doesn’t suffice to make it all only a bit better and faster.”
