SIAM appoints new president

Dr. Pawan Goenka has been elected president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the apex Industry body representing 44 major vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India, from 2009-2011. According to Dr. Goenka, growth with responsibility will be the abiding theme for SIAM's work over the next two years. The society's goal is to act as a catalyst for the Indian automobile industry to be a preferred global manufacturing and design base which will contribute to India's economic development. As the apex industry body for the Indian automobile industry, SIAM provides a platform for the industry to voice its concerns. It also aims to enhance communication, expand economics, trade and technical cooperation between the industry and its international counterparts.
