Sidel gets EcoVadis silver rating for CSR work

SIDEL has recently received a silver rating from EcoVadis for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The leading global provider of PET solutions for liquid packaging is among the top 30% of 20,000 companies assessed this year for their CSR efforts.

The independent evaluation conducted by EcoVadis reflected Sidel’s strong commitment to corporate governance and respect for the environment.

According to Nicholas Bloch, executive vice president for Communications at Sidel, “Sidel’s purpose is to help brands protect the product inside and the planet outside.  We continue to implement CSR in everything we do to help us achieve this and are pleased to see our EcoVadis rating this year is an improvement on last year.”

EcoVadis, a sustainability rating platform used to understand, track, and improve environmental, ethical, and social performance worldwide, assessed 20,000 companies from 150 sectors and 95 countries this year. The rating platform, which is used by many global companies such as Nestlé and Coca-Cola, monitors a company’s sustainability performance. It conducts an extensive and tough evaluation of the CSR management system, policies, actions, and results, including evaluating the whole supply chain with a system that brings together buyers and suppliers to accelerate transparency and foster more sustainable business. 

Sidel adopts EcoVadis’ method of benchmarking CSR performance in light of the value that the company places on the role of PET packaging throughout the whole supply chain from raw material to recycling and its role in turning the supply chains into value chains.

The company also works with Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX), the largest collaborative platform for sharing ethical supply chain data.
