Walter expands in small tools

Walter is expanding the range of its Prototyp Orbital solid carbide thread milling cutters downwards with its new M1.6 variant. Small blind threads are often a problem for conventional thread cutting tools but not for the Walter Prototyp milling cutters. The key to fracture-free success is the software package TEC/CSS. With small thread sizes, Walter is addressing the trend to miniaturization in many sectors. Small threads are on the increase particularly in medical technology, aerospace industry and instrumentation. These thread milling cutters are suited to the typical materials in these applications that are predominantly titanium alloys and corrosion-resistant steels with difficult cutting properties.
